Celtic icon Bertie Auld to be honoured by the club during Premier Sports Cup clash

Celtic will honour late Lisbon Lions hero Bertie Auld by wearing his number '10' on their shorts during the Premier Sports Cup semi-final clash against St Johnstone at Hampden on Saturday.

Auld, from Strathaven, who was briefly Hamilton Accies manager, tragically passed away on Sunday, aged 83.

Celtic today issued a statement confirming the classy gesture, and said: "The Celtic players will all wear the No.10 on their shorts at this Saturday's League Cup semi-final against St Johnstone at Hampden, in tribute to Bertie Auld."

In a further link to Saturday's cup clash, Auld scored the winner when Celtic beat St Johnstone 1-0 in the 1969 League Cup final.
