Celtic homegrown stars named in Europa League top five as academy graduates lead the way

Celtic have been named in a top five list of Europa League teams for having the most home-grown talent in their squad.

According to Football Talent Scout, the Hoops are ranked 5th out of all Europa League teams for housing the most academy graduates.

The list of 11 players includes the likes of captain Callum McGregor, Adam Montgomery and Anthony Ralston, who all featured from the start in Celtic 's 2-0 victory against Ferencváros on Tuesday.

The inclusion of so many youngsters will be music to the ears of Ange Postecoglou, who is trying to build a team around promising young stars emanating from Lennoxtown.

The remaining current squad players are: James Forrest, Stephen Welsh, Mikey Johnston, Ewan Henderson, Conor Hazard, Karamoko Dembele and Dane Murray.

Scott Robertson, who also makes the list, is currently on loan at Crewe Alexandra but did feature in Celtic's matchday squad against AZ Alkmaar in the qualifying round.

The Hoops are only behind FC Midtjylland (16), Real Sociedad (13), Sparta Prague (13) and Sturm Graz (12).
