Celtic hit with another UEFA charge following Europa League win over Cluj

Celtic have been hit with a UEFA charge after a section of fans allegedly set off fireworks in their win over Cluj on Thursday night.

Neil Lennon's side went top of their Europa League group with a 2-0 win over the Romanian champions, who knocked them out of the Champions League qualifiers earlier this season.

That leaves Celtic a point above both Lazio and Cluj, but they've been charged by UEFA for incidents during the game.

The governing body has announced that the Premiership champions face a charge for "setting off fireworks", which is a breach of article 16 of the UEFA Disciplinary Regulations.

A decision will be made on the case on October 17, a week before they face Lazio at Celtic Park.

Fans are also in a sweat about the away game with the Serie A giants, as the Stadio Olimpico may be closed due to racist chanting.

Lazio have been charged after fans allegedly engaged in racist behaviour in the win over Rennes, with the verdict in that case also to be handed down on October 17.
