Celtic hero Victor Wanyama swaps kit for a packet of spaghetti as famous Tweet leads to a reward

Ex- Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama has shown spaghetti is still his favourite meal - by swapping his jersey with a fan in return for a packet of pasta.

The 30-year-old midfielder is currently playing in MLS for CF Montreal after leaving Tottenham in March 2020, and he's quickly established himself as a fan favourite amongst the Canadian outfit's supporters.

So much so that fans regularly attend fixtures with signs and posters referencing his most famous tweet, when he professed his love for his favourite meal by posting “I had spaghetti and it was very nice” to his followers on social media.

Wanyama skippered Montreal during Sunday's 2-1 defeat to New England Revolution but the loss didn't seem to dampen his spirits too much, as he granted one particular supporter's wish as he headed for the dressing room:

Wanyama dished out his No2 jersey to a punter who was standing above the tunnel with a board scripted with a message “Will I trade spaghetti for Wanyama kit?”

And, brilliantly, he insisted on taking the spaghetti in return.

Never change, Victor.
