Celtic hero points to key factor which could give Rangers confidence boost in Old Firm derby

Celtic hero Packie Bonner reckons Rangers will gain confidence from the fact fans won't be able to attend next weekend's Old Firm derby at Parkhead.

The match will be played behind closed doors, of course, and the former goalkeeper feels that Steven Gerrard's side have the most to gain from a quiet Celtic Park.

He told Go Radio: "It’s just a pity the crowd is not going to be in for these big games. Doing the commentary isn’t quite the same.

"That’s the only pity, but it’s going to be an intense game, it’s going to be an interesting game. Celtic haven’t played brilliantly this year but they’ve won games and they have the players.

"The players coming back from international duty will be confident.

"They’re at home also but Rangers are playing very well. Their players will be high in confidence and I think the crowd not being there will allow Rangers to come and play with a little bit more confidence and be more relaxed at Celtic Park than the norm and that will be interesting to see how that pans out.

"Don’t be surprised to see it being a draw."
