Celtic hero Artur Boruc 'facing Bournemouth axe' over unsanctioned Rangers Europa League visit

Artur Boruc is reportedly in hot water with Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe after his unsanctioned visit to cheer on Legia Warsaw against Rangers at Ibrox.

The former Celtic star is set to to miss the Cherries game against Leicester on Saturday after his Thursday night visit to Glasgow according to broadcaster Jim White.

The keeper was loving his night up until Alfredo Morelos grabbed a last-gasp Europa League winner to send Steven Gerrard's side into the group stage.

Boruc was among the travelling fans as he grabbed a megaphone as the Polish supporters let off flares that saw the match temporarily halted during the second period.

But his antics have irked Howe and the 36-year-old is set to face the music at the Vitality Stadium.

And talkSPORT host White said: "Rangers fans are going to love this.

"He didn't have permission to travel and Eddie Howe is not at all happy with Artur.

"He was meant to sit on the bench tomorrow but that will now not happen.

"Artur Boruc is in deep water and he might have some explaining to do."

The Legia fans, who were given a huge police escort to the stadium, set off flares during the second-half to engulf Ibrox in smoke.

The game was briefly halted to allow the haze clear, resulting in the six minutes of injury time during which Morelos headed home.

That sparked wild celebrations in the home as Rangers booked their place in Friday's draw, which you can follow LIVE below.
