Celtic grant Tom Rogic and Daniel Arzani special leave as pair set to self isolate in Australia

Celtic have granted Tom Rogic and Daniel Arzani leave to return to Australia amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Parkhead club are in lockdown with Scottish football halted for an indefinite period while authorities attempt to suppress the outbreak.

And it's understood the pair have been allowed to return home, where they will be required to self-isolate for two weeks as per a government edict.

It's then expected they will train alone before being recalled to Scotland when the crisis subsides.

Following last week's shutdown, Neil Lennon suggested the Celtic players could return to training this week.

But the SFA and SPFL joint taskforce later recommended that clubs halt group sessions as infections in the UK continued to rise.

There's been no confirmation as yet over whether Celtic's other foreign stars will be allowed to follow Rogic and Arzani in heading home temporarily.

Australian prime minister Scott Morrison has announced the country will close its borders to non-citizens, a measure that could last six months.

There have been 450 confirmed cases in the country as of Wednesday.
