Celtic goalkeeper latest with Fraser Forster and Craig Gordon's futures uncertain

Celtic face competition in their bid to secure Fraser Forster for the upcoming season.

The goalkeeper was a major part of Neil Lennon's success last season after arriving on loan from Southampton for his second spell at the club.

Lennon is keen to tie the Englishman down on a long-term deal, and the English Premier League club are said to be willing to part with him.

Record Sport, however, reports that an unnamed club from the EPL's top four have Forster on their transfer shortlist.

The 32-year-old joined the Saints for £10m in 2014 after his first spell at Celtic Park, but his journey in the opposite direction on a permanent basis is in doubt. His fee and wages are currently said to be too high for Celtic.

With two years remaining on his St Mary's deal, it is believed that he would want most of the money owed to him by Southampton.

Prior to Forster's arrival last season, Craig Gordon had been competing with Scott Bain to be first choice for Celtic, but now the former Hearts and Sunderland keeper could be headed for the exit.

The 37-year-old is out of contract, but has been offered a deal that's worth less money and would be based on appearances.

Record Sport today reports that there is interest for the former Scotland first choice from Huddersfield Town, St Mirren and former club Hearts.
