Celtic goalkeeper Conor Hazard returns to Hoops following Dundee loan spell

Northern Ireland goalkeeper Conor Hazard has returned to Celtic following an emergency loan spell at Dundee.

Jack Hamilton is fit again to return as Dundee’s number one, ending Hazard's brief period at Dens Park.

The international keeper moved to Dundee last month but the rules of that switch means he must now make an immediate return to the champions

Dundee boss James McPake moved for Hazard because Hamilton had to undergo surgery to remove his appendix.

McPake confirmed: “Jack’s back and Conor Hazard has gone back to Celtic.

“I thought he was great for Dundee but the rules are the rules and he goes back.

“Conor, as I said, did great for us and we have to thank Celtic on how swiftly they allowed us to get him in.

“It was also a good move for Conor as it allowed him to play in some big games so all in all it has worked out well for everybody.”

First-choice keeper Hamilton will go back between the posts for Saturday’s home clash with Queen of the South.

His manager admitted: “Jack is back, fit and raring to go.

“He played in a closed doors game against Brechin and got 60 minutes.

“He has missed something like five week but now he is back and looking sharp.

“No, he was on schedule to return just now and without any complications.

“There could have been an issue with him diving about but we saw very early on that that wasn’t going to be the case.

“We just progressed and now he is fine.”
