Northern Ireland goalkeeper Conor Hazard has joined Dundee in an emergency loan deal from Celtic .
The Championship club have been forced to recruit replacement cover for regular number one Jack Hamilton who has been struck down by appendicitis.
Dundee boss James McPake revealed Hamilton has undergone surgery to remove his appendix, leaving only youngsters Calum Ferrie and Harrison Sharp as options between the sticks.
Hazard will now go straight into the squad for Friday's trip to face Ayr United.
The Northern Ireland 21-year-old spent time on loan in the Championship with Falkirk and Partick Thistle in the past two seasons.
McPake said: “It’s very frustrating for Jack and the team. He has been fantastic this season and is a big player in our dressing room.
“We have had to act quickly and I’m delighted that we have been able to get someone of Conor’s quality in.
“He is a player who has played in this league over the past two seasons and also has experience of playing at international level.”
