Former Celtic defender Marvin Compper has been handed a prominent role at Lokomotiv Moscow after hanging up his boots last year.
The German centre-back was recruited from RB Leipzig in January 2018 but failed to make any substantial impact under Brendan Rodgers or Neil Lennon.
Injuries didn't help but he managed just a single appearance before heading back to his native Germany 18 months after signing at Parkhead.
Compper, now 36, joined Duisburg in the third tier and managed 25 appearances.
But after just one season he hung up his boots and began coaching at the club.
He's now been headhunted by Russian giants Lokomotiv, who are now managed by German boss Markus Gisdol, who has previously managed Hamburg and Cologne in his homeland.
And Compper was chosen to assist him, with the club currently sitting in fourth place - five points off leaders Zenit St Petersburg.
Compper's one Celtic appearance came in a Scottish Cup tie with Morton.
