Celtic flop Jonjoe Kenny linked with shock move to Arsenal

Celtic flop Jonjoe Kenny has been linked with a shock summer move to Arsenal.

The England Under-21 internationalist joined the Hoops on a six-month loan deal from Everton in January following Jeremie Frimpong 's £11million move to Bundesliga giants Bayer Leverkusen but failed to convince as a potential long-term replacement.

Previously, Kenny has enjoyed a spell on-loan with Schalke, and it looks like there isn't much of a future for him at Goodison Park.

And that has led to suggestions he could be targeted by the Gunners during the current transfer window, with Mikel Arteta searching for competition, or even a replacement, for Hector Bellerin.

According to the Daily Mail, the 24-year-old is on a shortlist with Tariq Lamptey and Zeki Celik as realistic and affordable right-back options as the North London club prepare for their first season without European football in more than 25 years.

News of the link will come as a shock to Celtic supporters, many of whom were likely left pretty underwhelmed by Kenny's 16 outings in Glasgow last season.

Arsenal have already secured one important piece of business this weekend after Kieran Tierney agreed a new contract until the summer of 2026, with the Scotland international set to make almost £30million from the lucrative new terms.
