Celtic flop Diego Laxalt in 'three-way transfer battle' despite insipid Parkhead stay

Celtic flop Diego Laxalt is at the centre of a 'three-way battle' for his services this summer, as the left-back eyes up the next step in his career.

Laxalt spent last season on-loan at Parkhead from parent club AC Milan but failed to live up to a promising start and eventually found himself sitting on the bench after losing his starting berth to Greg Taylor.

But despite his underwhelming stay in the Scottish Premiership, it seems Laxalt is a wanted man, with the Sun reporting that Porto, Besiktas and Dynamo Moscow have all made enquiries in regards to the 28-year-old, who is thought to be available for just £3million.

Needless to say, it looks very unlikely that Celtic will throw their hat into the ring following Laxalt's disappointing loan spell.

He made his debut in a crushing 2-0 home defeat to Rangers and that more or less set the tone for the rest of his campaign, with the South American defender notching up just 13 league starts.

His last appearance in a Hoops start was another loss to the rampant Ibrox club in April in a dismal 2-0 Scottish Cup defeat and wherever he ends up plying his trade next season, we reckon there won't be too many tears from the Parkhead faithful.
