Celtic fixture reshuffle brings them in line with Rangers after Dundee United clash is brought forward

The chopping and changing of Scottish festive football fixtures continues and now Celtic have had a match brought forward.

Their Scottish Premiership clash with Dundee United on Wednesday 30 December has been brought forward to 3pm, after originally being scheduled to kick-off at 7.45pm.

The shift comes just a day after Rangers ’ trip to St Mirren on the same date - a rerun of last night’s Betfred Cup quarter-final - was also brought forward to an earlier kick-off time of 3pm.

So now Neil Lennon ’s side will get underway at the same time as Steven Gerrard’s after an agreement was reached with Dundee United

Three points at Celtic Park will be vital if The Hoops are to start clawing back ground on Rangers.

It’s especially important given the sides face each other at Ibrox on 2 January 2021.

The gap currently sits at 13 points, although Celtic can cut that to seven if they win their two games in hand.

However, these won’t be played until after they visit their Glasgow rivals so matching Rangers’ results until they are is the bare minimum expected of the reigning champs.

Celtic host Hibs nine days after the Old Firm encounter on Monday 11 January before a double header against Livingston.
