Celtic fixture reshuffle as Hibs clash moved to unusual midweek slot after 'club request'

Celtic's home clash with Hibs has been rearranged for an unusual midweek slot.

The Premiership encounter, originally scheduled for January 9, will now take on a new date and time.

The teams will instead meet on Monday, January 11 at 7.45pm.

The SFPL's official news Twitter account revealed the change had been made following a "club request".

Celtic and Hibs last met just over a week ago, with a 2-2 draw piling further pressure on under-fire boss Neil Lennon.

His side were forced to rally from two goals down to salvage a point at Easter Road.

Since then, however, the Hoops have slipped to two further defeats to leave Lennon on the brink.

Another 4-1 hammering from Sparta Prague preceded Sunday's 2-0 Betfred Cup defeat to Ross County, bringing to an end the club's remarkable run of domestic success.

They currently trail Premiership leaders Rangers by 11 points, albeit Celtic have two games in hand over their city rivals.

Next up is a Europa League trip to AC Milan on Thursday night.

Last week's defeat to the Czechs, however, means Lennon's side are already eliminated from the competition.
