Celtic fence off Parkhead after Neil Lennon sends warning over Hoops fan protests

Celtic have put extra steel fences around their stadium as fears grow over another protest on Sunday.

Hoops fans are angry at the form of their team with Neil Lennon's men winning just two of their last 11 games in all competitions.

That includes crashing out of the Betfred Cup to Ross County and two 4-1 defeats to Sparta Prague that ended their Europa League ambitions.

Crowds gathered outside the stadium last weekend after the Ross County loss and some supporters clashed with the police and three officers were injured.

Some fences were even thrown during the incident while Celtic condemned the incidents in a statement where they said the players had been 'shaken'.

And now they've added extra security around the stadium in a bid to stop any further incidents this weekend.

It comes as Lennon insisted it would do no good for the fans to attend the stadium and make their feelings heard.

He said: "Well, hopefully they will be celebrating a victory because that is what we will be trying to do. As we always do.

"I touched on what I thought of it on Sunday and if it is going to be reminiscent of Sunday, it is not what we need or what the players need at the minute."
