Celtic fans want Fraser Forster and not Joe Hart

Celtic fans have voted overwhelmingly in favour of Fraser Forster over Joe Hart in a poll regarding the next Celtic goalkeeper.

Forster was an integral part of Celtic's success during his second spell at the club last season, and manager Neil Lennon is keen to sign him from Southampton on a permanent basis.

Fellow English keeper Hart has also been linked with a move to Celtic Park, and Record Sport have confirmed that the Burnley number one is in negotiations with Celtic.

Their source said: "There were talks last week with Hart’s people and there are further discussions planned to take place before the weekend.

"It has all been very positive so far but obviously a lot is going to depend on what Fraser’s situation is at Southampton."

Over 3,000 Celtic fans took part in a poll on Twitter, with 86.6% choosing Forster and just 13.4% opting for Hart.

The latter has amassed 75 caps for England, but after being dropped by Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola in August 2016 Hart has failed to hit his previous heights.

Forster made 32 appearances last season for Celtic, including superb performances against Rangers and Lazio.

The 32-year-old remains Lennon's first choice, but according to The Sun he may have to part with midfielder Olivier Ntcham in order to secure a deal.
