Celtic fans unveil X-rated banner as they send clear message to Lazio ultras

Celtic fans unveiled an x-rated banner telling Lazio fans exactly what they think of their team.

The Hoops faced the Serie A side in Group E of the Europa League , and a section of the away fans behaved shamefully before kick-off.

Members of the Irriducibili ultras group were seen walking down Glasgow's Buchanan Street giving fascist salutes and singing 'Avanti Ragazzi di Buda', an anti-communist song which has become a staple of the Italian far-right.

Lazio's fans are notorious for their connections to the far-right, and a section of the Celtic support sent a clear message from the stands with a banner reading "Lazio vaffanculo" - Italian for "Lazio, **** off".

The teams will meet again in Rome next month, with the Curva Nord section of the Stadio Olimpico to be closed for the match after Lazio fans were seen giving fascist salutes in a previous game against Rennes.

Club president Claudio Lotito has pushed a 'zero tolerance' policy, but the political leanings of the ultras were clearly on display in Glasgow ahead of tonight's match at Celtic Park .

The section of the Stadio Olimpico which is shut for the return game is where the Irriducibili sit.
