Celtic fans revel in Brendan Rodgers woes as Leicester boss feels pressure

If a player or manager achieves success with your club, it's natural that you'll look out for their results in future.

To say Brendan Rodgers achieved success at Celtic is an understatement. The Northern Irishman won back-to-back trebles, going unbeaten domestically in his first season.

When he left the club, they were comfortably ahead of their rivals. It's no surprise, then, that Celtic fans continue to look out for his results. In fact, some have even gone so far as to get out of their cars and tell him following Leicester City has been a breath of fresh air.

Since the English Premier League restart, however, Celtic fans have watched with horror as Leicester's impressive season collapses.

Former Liverpool boss Rodgers' side have won just four of their 15 league matches in 2020, with only one of those victories coming after the restart. The nadir came on Sunday, when a 1-0 lead against second-bottom Bournemouth with 65 minutes on the clock became a 4-1 defeat 25 minutes later.

Leicester fans were unhappy.

"Can you imagine being this s***. EVERY BIG GAME. Every single time a match means something we absolutely, categorically, disgracefully, unforgivably chuck it in the bin. F*** off. We don’t deserve Europe. Head has FULLY fallen off" - @stevieeallen

"Rodgers has the ego of Pep and the ability of Pardew" - @thenotoriousul

"I'm so embarrassed and angry by this utter shambles of a performance. Brendan Rodgers has to explain how this has happened. No excuses" - @JasonBourne1986

"I'm not quite 'Rodgers out', but f*** me the collapse this season has been dreadful beyond words" - @ollieg21296

"#RodgersOut shouldn't even be a question now. If we bottle a 15-point gap on fourth in December and don't get Champions League then he goes and it's as simple as that. It's embarrassing and in modern football it simply isn't good enough for a club like Leicester" - @leicsfox1

"Get Rodgers out, sick and tired of this absolute w***. Been f***ing cat p*** since December and nothing's changed" - @Vardesque

Celtic fans were not unhappy.

"Get it up ye Rodgers hahahahahahahaha" - @kbyrnes95

"Had Rodgers left at the end of the season, I'd have wished him well. He didn't though, he snuck out the back door and hightailed it down to Leicester, leaving us depleted on a season-defining week. We are better without him. In future, 'be careful what you wish for'" - @MrStefanCarlin

"Leicester fans seein wit we aw eventually see from Brendan Rodgers. Comes inty yer club and right away you see attractive fitba but the minute teams figure out how to counter it he can't change things. After our invincible season we never played the same again. Won but played s***e" - @CG__67

"The universe punishing Brendan Rodgers for being a sneaky b***ard is delightful" - @DarrenConnell87

"Brendan Rodgers here for 5th in the league, 5th in the league" - @mn7cfc

"You could have been leading us to 10. You could have become immortal if you stayed for 10. You could have become one of the best ever managers in our history if you stayed for 10. Instead you chose mediocrity and money over your legacy. Ha. F***ing. Ha" - @kieransmyth97

Rodgers' former club Celtic face Lyon on Saturday, whose striker Moussa Dembele might also have some thoughts.
