Celtic fans rave about 'standout' youngster Owen Moffat after Sheffield Wednesday friendly

Celtic fans have taken to social media to lavish praise on midfielder Owen Moffat following the youngster's outing in this afternoon's 3-1 friendly victory over Sheffield Wednesday.

The 19-year-old was given the nod to start today's exhibition match in Wales, with former Rangers man Josh Windass opening the scoring for the English League One side after just three minutes.

The Hoops equalised through Swiss striker Albian Ajeti before Moffat conjured up a slick finish to fire his side ahead, and his outing in Ange Postecoglou's first match in charge has definitely left an impression on the Celtic fanbase.

One onlooker on Twitter wrote: "Owen Moffat! Announce Ballon d'Or @FIFAcom."

Another said: "Owen Moffat has been a standout today."

Whilst a third punter summed his showing by saying: "Owen Moffat is an absolute player."

Moffat has progressed from the club's Under-17 side all the way to the reserves but is currently still waiting on his first senior appearance for the Parkhead side.

But given his impressive display, and the fact he signed a new three-year deal last January, it surely won't be too long before we're seeing Moffat strutting his stuff in a competitive fixture.
