Celtic fans rage at Rangers ticket prices as Hoops reveal arrangements for Ibrox derby

Celtic have released ticketing arrangements for supporters ahead of the first derby clash of the season against Rangers .

The Hoops make the trip across Glasgow to face their arch rivals in the Premiership on Sunday, September 1.

And, following last year's slashing of away allocations from both sides, just over 800 Celtic fans will be in Ibrox for the eagerly-anticipated match.

However, Hoops' fans have hit out at the cost of the briefs which have shot up from £49 last season to £52 this time round.

Tickets for the match have been balloted among Celtic season ticket holders who attended 19 or more domestic away matches last season and one domestic away match in the current campaign.

But Celtic chiefs have warned there is not a sufficient allocation to meet the demand of everyone who meets the criteria.

It wasn't the size of the allocation that was concerning Celtic fans as briefs went on sale today though. It was the price as scores of fans instantly replied to the Hoops' message of Twitter.

@brianfeighan_82 slammed: "£52 a ticket....they're taking the p**s!"

And @stubax2 said: "£52? Tell them to ram their tickets."

But @Martin_Doc replied: "Don't for a minute think that this wasn't agreed between the clubs."

@Stephens_Green said: "The £52 will have been agreed with our board. Both clubs milking the over rated fixture for every penny."

Celtic and Rangers are locked on six points each from their opening two league matches of the season with the Hoops sitting on top of the table on goal difference.

Neil Lennon's side are hunting down a record-equalling ninth successive title.
