Celtic fans plan minute's applause in honour of Lanarkshire schoolboy Justin McLaughlin

Celtic fans are planning a minute's applause in honour of a Coatbridge schoolboy allegedly murdered in Glasgow at the weekend.

Hoops supporters will put their hands together on the 14th minute of today's Europa League clash with Hungarian outfit Ferencvaros after the tragic death of fan Justin McLaughlin.

Yesterday Lanarkshire Live told how the 14-year-old lost his life following an incident outside Glasgow's High Street train station on Saturday afternoon.

An extensive investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident and yesterday police said they arrested 16-year-old boy in connection with Justin's death.

The probe is continuing and cops have urged anyone with any further information to come forward.

Heartfelt tributes have poured in for the St Ambrose High School pupil with an online fundraising appeal already bringing in more than £5000.

And now fellow Celtic supporters have planned their own way to honour Justin at today's European tie.

The Celtic Feed Twitter account tweeted: "Hi everyone, with the sad news breaking today with the teenage boy Justin dying, he was a big Celtic fan and it would mean a lot if we could get a minutes applause on the 14th minute at the Ferencvaros game on Tuesday."

Police Scotland can be contacted with any information relating to Justin's death on 101. Information can also be left anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

And the British Transport Police can also be contacted by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40.
