Celtic fans mock Michael Beale's Rangers 'standards' statement with banner dig after League Cup glory

Celtic fans have sent a veiled message to Michael Beale after their side made it past Rangers in this year's League Cup final.

Hopes were high in the Ibrox camp as they looked to claim a huge win over their rivals, on top of one of the three domestic trophies on offer, with hopes of Premiership title joy growing slimmer each weekend. But Kyogo's double means they can only walk away with questions of what if and Alfredo Morelos' strike only served to half the deficit of the final scoreline.

In a recent Scottish Cup last 16 tie with Partick Thistle, Beale said it was key to uphold the 'standards' that matter at Rangers after handing a goal to the Jags, following a controversial Malik Tillman strike. The Union Bears then hit back with a banner that read 'two trophies in 11 years, uphold the standards that matter,' not lost on Parkhead supporters.

As the full-time whistle was unveiled, they unfurled a banner that read '22 trophies in 11 years, we set the standard'. They will now look to confirm the league title and win the Scottish Cup to complete a treble.
