Celtic fans have urged Filip Benkovic to 'come home' after Brendan Rodgers opened the door for the defender to make a potential move to Parkhead.
The Leicester City centre-half has struggled since his impressive loan spell with the Hoops, unable to force his way into the Foxes' first team.
Benkovic spent the first half of the season on loan at Cardiff City, but playing time time was hard to come by with the Welsh side.
Rodgers is now looking to find the Croatian another another short-term deal until the summer and believes Celtic would be the perfect destination for him, although he admits the Parkhead club have not been in contact over a move.
He said: "It's certainly a possibility. It's a huge club and he did very well there. We haven't had any contact but he's back now and we will see what happens.
“Celtic would be a great move for him. He's at the age where he really needs to be playing and that didn't quite materialise at Cardiff.
“I would never blame another manager for not playing someone because circumstances can change all the time but unfortunately it didn't work out.
“It's quite simple really, it's now a case of finding somewhere where he can go next and get some game time.”
Shortly after Rodgers' comments, Benkovic shared an image on his Instagram of the defender weightlifting.
And Celtic supporters were quick to hijack the post and urged the stopper to join Neil Lennon's side.
