Celtic fans furious as Neil Lennon to stay 'until end of the season'

Celtic fans are furious with reports the club would 'prefer' to keep Neil Lennon until the end of the season.

The Parkhead hierarchy are set to review the Northern Irishman's position at the end of the month after giving him their full backing in December.

Celtic are sitting 20 points behind Premiership league leaders Rangers and have won 7 out of their last 20 games, including a four-game winless run this month.

But the Daily Mail claims Celtic chiefs would prefer to keep Lennon on board until the current campaign finishes ahead of an operations overhaul in the summer.

And Celtic supporters are disappointed with the news and feel if they're going to act, it should be sooner rather than later.

@JoeMcnulty said: "Having a laugh."

@TamKinear added: "Decent, No even got a game and they’ve still managed to ruin the weekend."

@CelticFc_Core tweeted: "That's great that. One of the biggest seasons in the club's history and we are writing it off before January is even out The lack of respect for supporters this season is maddening and they'll feel the bite when ST renewals come around."

@allanedg said: "Our standards have fallen so far, so quickly that we don’t even feel obliged to make a change now. Incompetence doesn’t stop at the manager clearly."

@euan_cfc added: "I genuinely don’t understand any reason to not let him go now? Why would you ‘prefer’ to keep a manager who’s won 7 in 22?"

@_zsipod_ tweeted: "A properly run club would not even contemplate this.."
