Celtic fans furious as Marian Shved seals loan transfer with option to buy

Marian Shved has joined KV Mechelen on season-long loan deal, with an option to buy.

The Celtic winger has endured a frustrating time at Parkhead since arriving from Karpaty Lviv for £1million.

It was expected he would provide competition with James Forrest, but that hasn't materialised as he only made two appearances under Neil Lennon last season.

Shved will now attempt to revive his career in Belgium and reports suggest Mechelen have an option to make the move permanent in 12 months time.

And fans have been left furious by the decision as they believe Shved never got a chance to make his mark at the club.

@peterhands said: "Forrest is so protected it’s unreal."

@PG_67 added: "This isn’t what we meant by free Shved ffs."

@Bhoy1888Celtic1 tweeted: "I genuinely don’t believe Lennon gets quizzed enough re this guy, ie, where’s he been, is he fit, when will we see him again etc. A stand out for a club battling relegation in Ukraine, I’m curious as to what’s went wrong so far at us."

@gconnolly87 said: "Best player to never have played for us.

@andyholmes97 tweeted: "Sad."

@patmanfarrell added: "My heart has been broken."

@EtienneBojan said: "Another talented player given absolutely no opportunity. We now have one fit right winger in the squad. Are we cost cutting or what? Is their something we should know?"

@Stiofan1798 tweeted: "Doesn't look like he's ever going to get an opportunity, odd way to treat a player."
