Celtic fans fume at stewarding 'shambles' with huge numbers on the touchline for Livingston clash

Celtic fans have been critical over the high numbers of stewards spotted on the touchline against Livingston - insisting the numbers skyrocketed for the Premiership showdown.

The Scottish league leaders continued their positive momentum thanks to goals from Greg Taylor, Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi before the half-time whistle, with Ange Postecoglou's side keeping their nine point advantage at the top of the table over Rangers. Despite a modest attendance in the away support and a routine victory for Celtic, a large volume of stewards were spotted marching the touchline during the encounter.

A huge influx of stewards lined the stands at the full-time whistle, sparking criticism from the fans inside Celtic Park that the security measures were overkill. One fan tweeted: "I don't recollect being taught the collective noun for stewards at school but "shambles" seems apt judging by their antics around the perimeter at the Celtic - Livingston game tonight."

Another joked "Celtic Park currently just spawning stewards" while another punter was simply left bemused asking: "Mental amount of stewards around the ground at full time. What was that about?"

One fan attempted to offer an explanation. The Celtic supporter stated: "Probably took an influx of new staff and was an easy way to get them to experience some atmosphere in a game where there was no risk of trouble."
