Celtic fans fume at 'disgusting' Champions League ticket prices for Nomme Kalju clash

Celtic fans have hit out at the club after ticket prices for the Champions League qualifier against Nomme Kalju were revealed.

Admission to the first-round success over Sarajevo was free for season ticket holders but supporters are being asked to stump up for the next stage.

The Estonians visit Parkhead on Wednesday July 24 and a full-price ticket will cost £24.

Concessions will be charged £13 while it's £8 for kids.

Briefs will cost even more for non-season ticket holders - general sale tickets are £26 for adults, £14 for concessions and £9 for kids, not including admin or delivery fees.

And the pricing has sparked an angry backlash from a section of fans on Twitter.

Celtic 's official ticketing Twitter account announced the news on Thursday morning and over 100 supporters replied to the post, with the majority unhappy at the decision.

@MD449512 wrote: "Who cames up way these prices? @CelticFCSLO Just killed a possible full house through greed, the club's losing money here! Celtic Football Club was initially founded to raise money for the poor, not try rob them at every opportunity going"

@johnboyle67 said: "Honestly a massive own goal make it £15 adults £5 for kids you would get full house, with 4 play off games ,those prices, we won’t break 40,000 for this game...out of touch with ordinary fans"

@CelticF1rst said: "£23? The weans greeting noo. Thanks @CelticFCTickets In all seriousness, if we qualify for the CL group stages, what are we looking at now? £40 / £45 per ticket?"

@stubhoy79 wrote: "Disgusting behaviour by the club again"

Season ticket holders were given free admission to the 0-0 friendly draw against Rennes but some questioned this wasn't extended to the upcoming qualifier.

@nickyflynn__ said: "Someone has to be reading the comments. The fans done want the “free friendly” they want the 2 qualifiers. If we are going to be playing 4 games to reach the champions league then they need to have a serious look at it."

@seancollinscfc said: "Price is shocking for a 2nd qualifying round, clearly didn’t listen last year when we didn’t want the free friendly"

And lennonlions18 added: "Poor show again from the club, stinging the fans for more money, should be 2 qualifiers with book instead of a meaningless friendly"

Should Neil Lennon 's side progress, they will be forced to navigate a further two rounds before reaching the group stage.
