Celtic fans all say the same thing after Neil Lennon's promise to 'loyal' players

Neil Lennon's promise that he is going to show 'loyalty' to some Celtic players for next week's Scottish Cup Final hasn't gone down well with supporters.

The Parkhead side picked up a vital three points against Kilmarnock with a 2-0 win thanks to goals from Moi Elyounoussi and Shane Duffy.

Lennon kept the faith with his fringe stars after their impressive outing midweek against Lille.

And the likes of David Turnbull, Ismaila Soro and Conor Hazard impressed once again this afternoon.

The Scottish Cup Final is up next and that leaves Lennon with a few difficult decisions to make.

Does he stick with his in-form players or bring some of the experienced lads back into the fold. Well, the Celtic manager's comments hinted at the latter.

And fans were disappointed with his comments as they think next week's team should be based on form, not sentiment.

@lewis_hervo said: "It doesn’t make sense. Why the f*** are you gifting a cup final to players who have been sub-par all season? These types of games should be earned not expected!"

@stengo7 added: "Neil you’re not learning. Sentimental s****. The club must come first. That means play your form and hungry players. They’ve won two out of two. I’m sure they deserve it too."

@RawDRasta tweeted: "Good result & performance from most of Thursdays team, BUT this is the problem. Lenny I like you, but you have to go! Cup final is a game to win! The players that “deserve“ to play are the ones winning the last two games! Nothing else."

@Ryanclifford11 said: "They are also the players who could get you the sack. Neil."

@ORebily added: "Sentimentality such as this will be our downfall."

@TheCelticEndPod tweeted: "It’s the comments at the end that loses any rebuild of good will. No time for sentiment at the moment, your job hangs in the balance due to some of these players."
