Celtic fans all say the same thing after Elyounoussi and Ajer are given green light after covid scare

Celtic have confirmed Moi Elyounoussi and Kris Ajer are clear to play Hibs this Saturday after their recent coronavirus scare.

There were fears the pair would have to self isolate for ten days after Norway's Nations League clash against Romania was called off after Omar Elabdellaoui tested positive last week.

Norway's guidelines stated the players were allowed to fly back to Glasgow, but would have to quarantine despite returning multiple negative tests and not coming in close contact with Elabdellaoui.

Reports claimed breaching these rules could carry fines and jail time as it would be breaking Norwegian laws. But Celtic believed Scotland's guidelines would supersede Norway's since they are now on Scottish soil.

And the Parkhead club confirmed the star duo would continue training with the Celtic squad and available for selection for their Premiership match at Easter Road this weekend.

The club said: "Celtic can confirm that following recent speculation both Moi Elyounoussi and Kris Ajer are able to continue training with the squad and taking part in matches."

Supporters were delighted Elyounoussi and Ajer were given the green light as the Norwegian internationals have been in fine form prior to the break.

@Dave_McH tweeted: "Nice one! Looks like we might just come out of the international break relatively unscathed."

@JohnMcCann_39 added: "There should've/would've been a riot if this news had been any different!!!"

@bradmurrayx said: "Covid 2 Celtic 1 and the champions pull one back."

@Plac!dCasual tweeted: "Celtic attempting a comeback against Covid. C’mon The Hoops."

@oliviarose18xx added: "Finally - we actually have some good news for a change."
