Celtic fan who had final ticket binned by wife gifted spare by kind-hearted Hoops supporter

The Celtic fan who lost his Scottish Cup Final ticket after his wife binned it has picked up his new brief for the game outside of Hampden.

John McGoldrick was left gutted when his wife accidentally threw his ticket for the potentially historic match away and was delighted when a fellow Hoops supporter stepped forward with a spare.

Terry Porter had got in touch with the Daily Record after our initial story and revealed he had a spare that he would pass on to John.

Celtic Fans give their predictions

And now the pair will sit beside each other at Hampden for the game and were pictured together prior to the match.

The image shows John, from Glasgow, being handed the ticket by Terry, who had the spare because his 17-year-old son could no longer make the match.

Speaking about why he decided to give them it, Renfrew-based Terry had said: "I read about John losing his ticket. I had a spare and I wanted it to go to someone who had a bad time. When I read about John's story I thought it would be nice to offer it to him."

Celtic are looking to win a historic treble Treble by beating Hearts.
