Celtic fan Lana Del Rey sings poignant cover of football anthem You’ll Never Walk Alone

Singer Lana Del Rey has recorded a stunning acoustic cover of Celtic anthem “You’ll Never Walk Alone” for a new football documentary.

The American pop star, who is a fan of the Scottish club, debuted the classic track on Instagram as she shared a black-and-white video.

Lana is a huge football lover, having previously supported Celtic FC while dating Glasgow Kassidy rocker Barrie-James O’Neill.

During their three-year relationship, the Video Games hitmaker was spotted numerous times in Glasgow - which she once referred to as the place she feels the 'happiest'.

She even famously showed her support for the Scottish club by posting a photo wearing a Celtic top on Twitter.

The star, who was forced to cancel her SSE gig in February this year, once shocked a Glasgow Co-op worker by popping in to buy some bread rolls - and signing a copy of Vogue where she posed on the cover.

Lana is also a Liverpool fan through her manager Ben Mawson, and has attended games at Anfield as well as having met former captain Steven Gerrard.

The “You’ll Never Walk Alone” cover will be used for a new documentary about the fortunes of Liverpool FC.

However, more details about the singer's involvement in the documentary are currently unknown.

The song originally featured in the musical Carousel and was then performed by   Gerry and the Pacemakers in 1963 and has been the football club’s anthem for a long period of time.

The song gained new meaning for the club in the wake of the 1989 Hillsborough disaster, in which 96 people died in a human crush at a Liverpool and Nottingham Forest match.
