Celtic fan group urge supporters to gather outside Hampden ahead of Hearts cup final clash

Celtic fans are planning a huge welcome for Neil Lennon's men when they arrive at Hampden for Sunday's Scottish Cup final clash with Hearts.

The Green Brigade has called for Hoops fans to gather outside the national stadium's Aikenhead Road entrance prior to kick off in an attempt to roar Neil Lennon's men on to victory in their bid for a quadruple-treble.

Supporters previously demonstrated outside Celtic Park, calling for the removal of Lennon following their Betfred Cup exit at the hands of Ross County.

Those protests were condemned by the club, local police and First Minister Nicola Sturgeon for flagrantly breaching social distancing guidelines.

Glasgow has been placed in tier three of the Scottish Government's coronavirus restrictions - meaning only two households are allowed to meet outdoors.

The visit of Kilmarnock to Celtic Park on Sunday saw further action, this time with social distancing measures in place.

However, they were not strictly enforced, with several images showing fans grouped together.

The vocal Celtic fan group have urged supporters to gather outside Hampden regardless of those restrictions as they look to avoid an upset against Robbie Neilson's side.

A video posted on social media shows a large number of fans chanting outside Celtic Park with instructions on where and when to meet on Sunday.

Celtic defeated Hearts in the final of the 2018/19 competition courtesy of an Odsonne Edouard double.

The rescheduled 2020 edition of the final sees the two sides lock horns again, with the Glasgow club looking to make it 12 Scottish football trophies out of 12 since 2017.
