Celtic fan group announce protest to 'hold board to account' ahead of Dundee clash next week

Celtic fans will stand in protest against the board in a demonstration to be held next Sunday, August 8.

Supporters have been making their feelings heard following the disappointment of Wednesday's Champions League exit to Midtjylland.

The hierarchy at Celtic Park are being accused of "not backing" new boss Ange Postecoglou who remains in a constant fight to bring in players to the club.

Hoops followers will gather outside the stadium prior to Celtic's first home match of the league campaign against Dundee.

Fan groups including the Green Brigade; Celtic Trust and The North Curve have united and announced the protest today in a video shared online with the message: "The Celtic support has backed Ange.

"The board must do the same. Hold the board to account."

It comes as the Parkhead side get ready to begin their Scottish Premiership campaign against Hearts at Tynecastle tomorrow evening.

The league opener could see new signings such as Carl Starfelt make their debut, however fans are calling for more support to be given by the board to enable Postecoglou to strengthen his side.

A post by Celtic Shared in the aftermath of the club's defeat in Denmark read: "The anger amongst the Celtic support has been palpable all day.

"It is time we channelled this anger properly with the passion we all have for the club.

"The board aren’t listening whilst we merely sit behind our phones and laptops posting on social media.

"It is time for action."

The protest is planned for 1pm on August 8, the day Celtic take on Dundee at home.
