Celtic face another UEFA fine as fans set off pyro at the Stadio Olimpico

Celtic face yet another UEFA charge after fans set off fireworks at the Stadio Olimpico on Thursday night.

A section of the 9000 fans who had travelled from Scotland to Rome ignited pyro before kick-off as Neil Lennon’s side prepared to take on Lazio.

Celtic have already been sanctioned 18 times by European football’s powerbrokers and they also face another charge for their supporters’ conduct in the first Europa League game against the Serie A giants at Celtic Park.

The Scottish champions and Lazio face punishments for "illicit chants" while Celtic have been levelled with an additional charge of "displaying an illicit banner".

Fans unfurled banners that read "F*** Lazio" and one that showed Facist dictator Benito Mussolini being hanged.

Now they face their 20th charge and yet another fine after some supporters set off fireworks in the Italian capital. UEFA rules strictly forbid all forms of pyrotechnics.
