Celtic exit permanent for Motherwell signing as head coach praises SWPL 1 capture

Motherwell Women's head coach Paul Brownlie is delighted to pull off the signing coup of London Pollard from Celtic.

The young attacker joined Celtic earlier this year but leaves on a permanent basis to join the Women of Steel.

Brownlie's side have a week's hiatus from matches after an impressive 4-3 victory over Aberdeen put the team into SWPL 1's fifth place, the top half.

Motherwell are back in action next week against champions Glasgow City in what will prove to be a stern challenge for them.

On the signing of Pollard, Brownlie said: "London is a good signing for us and she gives us more attacking threat along that front three. London is still a young player with huge talent.

"It's a permanent deal from Celtic. We know how good a player she is and we know the level she needs to get to next.

"We will try and help her physically and tactically to get her to the next level. We know there are areas in London's game that she has to work on.

"But that's the same with any player. She is an exciting talent. We are delighted to be able to bring her to the football club."
