Celtic Europa League fixtures revealed as Parkhead double header key to last 16 hopes

Celtic's Europa League fixtures have been revealed ahead of the group stage.

Ange Postecoglou 's side secured their place in the tournament following an aggregate success over AZ Alkmaar this week.

And they were rewarded with an exciting group comprised of Bayer Leverkusen, Real Betis and Ferencvaros.

The Premiership club will commence their campaign away to Betis on Thursday, September 16.

From there on, they host Bayer Leverkusen and then Ferencvaros in a home double header before playing both those sides away.

With fans back inside Celtic Park, Postecoglou's best chance of last 16 qualification looks to be those consecutive home clashes with Leverkusen and Ferencvaros.

The Hungarians claimed a Champions League qualifying victory inside an empty Parkhead last year but a full house is a hugely different proposition on European nights.

Celtic 's group stage schedule then ends at home to Betis in December, where they could potentially progress to the knockout stage or even drop into the Europa Conference League in a new lifeline added this season by UEFA.

Fixtures in full

Real Betis vs Celtic - September 16

Celtic vs Bayer Leverkusen - September 30

Celtic vs Ferencvaros - October 21

Ferencvaros vs Celtic - November 4

Bayer Leverkusen vs Celtic - November 25

Celtic vs Real Betis - December 9
