Celtic Europa League fixtures revealed as Hoops make Spanish trip on opening day

Celtic have discovered how their Europa League group stage will play out after UEFA announced the fixtures for the tournament.

Ange Postecoglou's men overcame AZ Alkmaar to reach the tournament proper once again and were drawn against Bayer Leverkusen, Real Betis and Ferencvaros.

The club have some recent history with Ferencvaros after the Hungarian side knocked them out of the Champions League last season.

There's also some more famous history with Real Betis with the Spanish side taking their colours from Celtic in their early days.

And it's a trip to Spain - and a return to Seville - for the opening game when they travel to take on Betis at the Estadio Benito Villamarin on the opening day.

That takes place on September 16 before a home tie with Bayer Leverkusen on September 30.

A double header with Ferencvaros at home on October 21 and away on November 4.

They then travel to Germany to take on Bayer Leverkusen before rounding it off against Betis at Celtic Park on December 9.

November 4 - Ferencvaros v Celtic - 8pm
