Celtic diehard Alan Brazil in shock Rangers admission as he sends Kieran Tierney a vital message

Celtic fan Alan Brazil has revealed he will be cheering on Rangers in their quest for Euro glory.

Steven Gerrard 's side are currently top of Europa League Group G and know a draw with Young Boys on matchday six will seal their place in the last 32.

And radio host Brazil, who loves trading barbs with the Ibrox legend Ally McCoist, concedes he will be looking out his Rangers scarf ahead of their clash with the Swiss side on December 12.

Rangers narrowly missed out last season but the 60-year-old confesses the chance to further boost Scotland's coefficent means he's putting city rivalry to one side.

He told the Sunday Post: "I'll be quietly cheering on the Gers in their deciding clash with Young Boys in a fortnight's time.

"Yes, Brazil the Celtic fan is backing the Bluenoses!

"The Hoops have been terrific in Europe this season but Rangers have been very impressive too and Steven Gerrard deserves credit for that, just as Neil Lennon does for his work with Celtic.

"Rivalry is great. It's a huge part of what makes football brilliant but after 20 years of of missing out on major Finals, Scottish football needs as many success stories as possible."

And Brazil is also backing Kieran Tierney to emerge stronger from his difficult start to life with Arsenal after £25m switch from Celtic in the summer.

The rampaging left-back has battled back from double hernia surgery but the Gunners are in a tailspin after misfiring boss Unai Emery was sacked after going seven games without a win.

He added: "If I were Kieran, I would be full of confidence about the future - because Arsenal are about to get better.

"Anybody who has watched them under Emery, particularly recently, could see where their major problems lay.

"They are far too weak through the middle and in central defence.

"Whoever takes over from Emery will not have his blind spot. It will get sorted in January.

"For a player like Kieran, that will make a huge difference."
