Celtic deliver touching three-word Scott Brown statement in wake of vile Ibrox abuse

Celtic have delivered a poignant Scott Brown message in support of the Hoops skipper in the wake of the sickening abuse he suffered outside Ibrox.

Brown was taunted over the death of his sister after his side's 2-0 win over Rangers on Sunday.

Fiona lost her battle with cancer in 2008 at the age of 21 and Brown has spoken in the past about the grief he suffered after the passing of his sibling.

The footballing world came together to condemn the twisted yob who shouted "how's your sister?"

Brown's best pal Kevin Thomson, former team-mate Moussa Dembele and Ibrox hero Nacho Novo were among those to condemn the sicko who will be banned from Ibrox by Rangers.

And now Celtic have delivered an emphatic social media statement in support of the treble Treble captain.

The post read: "Captain. Leader. Legend."

Record Sport columnist Chris Sutton was another who hit out as he blasted the "scumbag" responsible.

He said: "The Scott Brown video is absolutely sickening.

"It’s hard to imagine anybody could actually be as sick as this.

"There is no place for this sort of behaviour anywhere in society. Enough is enough and the scumbag responsible should be held to account."

Supporters from Celtic and Rangers and the wider Scottish football community came together to condemn the attack of one of Scottish football's most decorated players.
