Celtic defender Marvin Compper finally finds a way to be a standout with strange clobber collection

Marvin Compper has been conspicuous by his absence ever since he signed for Celtic 15 months ago.

One first team appearance, a handful of reserve starts and the odd training session apart, the German defender has barely been seen since his £1million move from RB Leipzig.

However, it appears the 33-year-old has finally found a way to be a stand out.

Sashaying his way into the Hoops' player of the year awards ceremony at Parkhead this evening, Compper took the spotlight with his nifty choice of attire.

Scott Brown led a procession of stars into the room with black suit following black suit following black suit... until Compper swaggered in wearing an all-beige number.

Predictably, social media was unforgiving on the unfortunate stopper who would be best placed avoiding Twitter for the rest of the evening.

@PaulB_67 said: "Big Marvin Compper is wearing an all brown suit brown tie the whole shabang, a fitting tribute too his time at us...Big looney."

While @chrissy872 said: "So Marvin Compper is still alive and wearing the worst suit I've seen."

@Paularm91098877 added: "Big Marv dandering in like he's expecting to win the award too.

And @Daniel_VVN joked: "Marvin Compper for once manages to stand out."

Celtic will announce their player of the year later this evening. Big Marv and his suit are not expected to trouble the podium.
