Celtic defender Boli Bolingoli condemned by Justice Minister Humza Yousaf

Justice Minister Humza Yousaf has condemned the actions of Boli Bolingoli and confirmed that the Scottish Government will consider pausing Scottish football.

On Monday night the Scottish Sun reported that Bolingoli had broken quarantine rules by flying out to Spain for a holiday without informing the club and failing to isolate when he returned, before coming on as a late substitute against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.

The story came just days after eight Aberdeen players issued an apology for having been out drinking after their 1-0 defeat against Rangers.

Speaking on Twitter, SNP MSP Yousaf said: "Utterly unacceptable from Bolingoli. With a number of incidents, Scot Govt left with little choice but to consider whether pause is now needed in resumption of the game.

"Operational matter for Border Force & Police Scot, I support whatever enforcement action they deem necessary."

STV reporter Raman Bhardwaj this morning tweeted: "Understand crunch talks will take place this morning between Scottish Government and the Scottish football authorities in light of latest Covid protocol breach."

Bolingoli played for the final three minutes as Neil Lennon's side were held to a 1-1 draw in their second Premiership game of the season.
