Celtic defender Andrew Gutman's debut has MLS fans reacting in the most American way possible

Flying Hoops full-back Andrew Gutman has wasted no time in getting his new fans on board.

The Celtic talent made his debut for FC Cincinnati this morning, helping his side to a 2-2 draw with Columbus Crew, the club for whom Motherwell’s Chris Cadden will join following his Oxford United loan.

His swashbuckling performance had his new American fans purring.

But the 22-year-old garnered comments that were a little different to those he would get for a decent performance at Celtic Park.

They reacted in the most American way possible, reminding Gutman he's now definitely back playing soccer - not football.

@rdhuff178 Dude. I'd heard you were solid but damn. You should sign here permanently.

@eric_turner7 Hell of a game AG, keep doing work.

@cmeddie You were fire this evening! Some massive defensive plays out there and so close to a huge score!

@browntownsaurus Loved seeing him bomb up and down the wing.

@REnzweiler Impressive, very impressive debut. Love your motor and hustle. Cheers!

Neil Lennon sent the American on loan to FC Cincinnati at the start of August, while he also extended his contract.

Given the Hoops lack of options at right-back, it will be interesting to see how Gutman progresses this season.
