Celtic-daft Line of Duty star Vicky McClure dons Hoops top gifted by co-star Martin Compston for zany Hogmanay dance

Line of Duty's Vicky McClure has entertained fans with inspiration to take them into the new year.

The actress donned a Celtic top which was gifted to her by Hoops superfan and co-star Martin Compston to deliver the message.

She also performed a wacky dance routine to Daniel Beddingfield's monster hit Gotta Get Through This to really hit it home.

The 37-year-old is good pals with her Greenock-born AC12 colleague and gave a nod to his favourite team on the zany Instagram post earlier today.

Accompanying the clip with a tribute to NHS staff and their hard work throughout the year, she said: "What shall I post to sum up this year? A nice picture? A quote? Nah let’s go with this video I sent to my family whilst away filming Line of Duty 6!

"We will get through this, we gotta!

"To the NHS and every single one of you working and being there for others this year...thank you you beautiful souls. Happy New Year to you all. Bring on the hugs.

Season six of Line of Duty, which also stars Adrian Dunbar, will air on BBC One in 2021.

Filming for the series had been halted earlier this year amid the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic but resumed in Belfast in September, with strict guidelines to ensure the new episodes are produced as safely as possible.

The new series will also see the arrival of newcomers Shalom Brune-Franklin, Perry Fitzpatrick, Andi Osho and Prasanna Puwanarajah, as well as a lead guest star appearance by Scots actress and Boardwalk Empire star Kelly Macdonald.
