Celtic-daft Lewis Capaldi declares love for 'Glasgow's green and white' at Italian music festival

Lewis Capaldi declared his love for Celtic on stage at a televised gig in Italy as a very special attendee watched on.

The 23-year-old singer was performing his number one hit Someone You  Loved at the Festival di Sanremo last night held at Teatro Ariston in Sanremo.

The singer was invited onto the stage after his performance by the show's enthusiastic host who revealed football megastar Cristiano Ronaldo was in the audience.

The footballer's girlfriend Georgina Rodriguez was co-hosting the show.

In Italian the host asks Lewis: "Which football team do you support?"

He turns to face the crowd and declares: "Celtic football club, Glasgow's green and white, do you know what I mean?"

The Sanremo Music Festival is a Italian TV song contest held every year to select the country's representative for the Eurovision Song Contest next year.

It is held from Tuesday until Saturday.

how Lewis scooped his second official UK No1 with his hit Before You Go.

It is the Scottish singer-songwriter's second chart-topper following the success of last year's hit Someone You Loved.
