Celtic break silence on leaked summer transfer dossier and confirm probe is underway

Celtic have confirmed they are looking into the leak of a top level summer transfer document.

The papers, which are allegedly from a high-level meeting among Hoops' top brass in April, appear to show transfer targets and out of contract players who will be allowed to leave.

Containing details of position by position decisions, the in-depth dossier was circulated on fans' forums on Monday.

Celtic have confirmed they are aware of the breach and a spokesman told BBC Scotland on Tuesday afternoon: "We're looking into it."

Minutes of the apparent meeting appear to show manager Neil Lennon , the club's former head of recruitment Lee Congerton and chief executive Peter Lawwell were all in attendance.

According to reports, Celtic will treat the leak as a criminal matter.

The Premiership champions have been plagued with leaks this season.

Their starting XI for several high profile clashes went out ahead of time.

Lennon spoke about trying to keep transfer business in-house on Friday when he was confirmed as the club's manager after stepping in until the end of the season when Brendan Rodgers left in late February.

He previously admitted his unhappiness about the team selections being leaked, adding in April that "someone is letting us down".

Lennon faces a pivotal summer with a host of first-team stars reaching the end of their contracts or returning to their parent clubs.

Top players including Kieran Tierney and Olivier Ntcham have also attracted transfer interest from clubs in England and abroad.
