Celtic confirm Boli Bolingoli investigation after breach of quarantine rules

Celtic have confirmed that they are investigating Boli Bolngoli following reports that he broke quarantine rules.

As reported by the Scottish Sun, Bolingoli took a holiday in Spain without making the club aware. He then failed to isolate upon returning to the country, before coming on as a substitute in Celtic's game against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Sunday.

A Scottish Government spokesman said they have "little choice but to consider whether a pause is now needed in the resumption of the game in Scotland", and Celtic have today outlined the steps they're taking.

As quoted by Clyde 1 Superscoreboard, a club spokesman said: "Celtic Football Club has taken its response to Coivd-19 extremely seriously and we are pleased that, to date, we have recorded no positive tests.

"Our staff have given so much in this area, working tirelessly to ensure that all players and other club personnel are safe, fully aware of their own responsibilities and familiar with all guidance and protocols.

"Safety must always be our priority. Clearly, a full investigation will now take place and the Club will take all appropriate action.

"Subsequent to the player's return he has recorded two negative tests in the past week."

Bolingoli came on for the final three minutes as Neil Lennon's side drew 1-1 with Kilmarnock in their second Premiership game of the season.
