Celtic are closing in a season-long loan deal for teenage Chelsea left-back Landon Emenalo.

The Parkhead club have completed the signing of £6m Egyptian winger Hasseim Hassan on a four-year-deal with the option of another year.

German under-21 international midfielder Mika Baur will also undergo a medical after flying to Glasgow to complete formalities.

And 18-year-old Emenalo, son of former Chelsea technical director Michael, has now been earmarked to provide cover for Kieran Tierney.

Originally viewed as a midfielder or central defender, the Stamford Bridge academy prospect has represented both England and the United States and stood out at left-back in three of Chelsea’s pre-season games under Xabi Alonso.

The Scottish champions have already signed and secured Camilo Duran and Danish striker Kasper Hugh with the addition of Hassan, Baur and Emenalo expected ahead of the first leg of their Champions League play-off against Austrian champions LASK Linz next week.

Martin O’Neill says he wants quality over quantity and the club remain in the market for a goalkeeper, while preparing for the loss of Arne Engels. West Ham are expected to return with an increased package worth £25m for the Belgian.

Celtic are reluctant to sell right-back Alistair Johnston to Everton and want a fee in excess of £15million. The English Premier League are now assessing a number of options.
