Celtic chiefs and manager Martin O'Neill met with supporters to address their concerns on transfers and communication during their trip to Ireland.

The Hoops are currently on tour with a match against Shelbourne coming this week as part of their pre-season preparations.

The Association of Irish Celtic Supporters Clubs had planned their annual general meeting in Cork on July 4 but reportedly had to alter their schedule after being contacted by the club.

Chairman Brian Wilson, chief executive Michael Nicholson and O'Neill are said to have met and answered fan questions on various burning issues including the transfer window as well as fan engagement.

But despite the discussion, and the presumed grilling from punters, no minutes from the meeting have yet emerged.

“The Association of Irish Celtic Supporters Clubs held their AGM in Cork on July 4th," their statement read.

"The scheduled proceedings were slightly altered due to the AICS receiving a last minute request from Celtic Football Club to allow Celtic manager Martin O’Neill, and board members Brian Wilson and Michael Nicholson an opportunity to engage with supporters and clubs as part of their Irish tour.

"The AICS accepted the request as chance for fans and Irish Supporters Clubs to raise questions and concerns directly with the board on issues that have effected both fans and the club.

"Particularly around transfers, communication, fan engagement and modernising club structures. The AICS has a duty of care to represent Irish Celtic Supporters Clubs and welcome the opportunity to engage in improved fan communication with Celtic as a forum to raise, challenge and engage on matters that concern fans and Irish Supporters Clubs directly with the board.

"The AICS continues to grow year on year and we pay homage to our clubs and members all over Ireland that freely give up their time to build and help in the development of the AICSC.

"Congratulations to the newly elected Committee who have been entrusted by our members to promote and build the objectives of the AICSC over the next year.

"Beir bua agus beannacht."
