Celtic chief executive Peter Lawwell has been left "extremely shaken" after an explosion and fire at his home.
Lawwell, due to step down at the end of next month after 17 years in the role at Parkhead, and his family were asleep when his home caught fire after, according to the Daily Record, a Molotov cocktail was thrown at a car parked on his driveway.
A car was duly set alight and a subsequent explosion saw the blaze spread to Lawwell's home in the south of Glasgow.
Up to eight fire engines and 40 firefighters are believed to have battled the flames at the scene in Peel Road, Thorntonhall, when the alarm was raised just after 1am.
Police subsequently took Lawwell and his family to a safe location after the ordeal.

Police Scotland confirmed no one was injured in the events in a statement which reads: "Around 1am on Wednesday, 19th May officers were called to a report of vehicles on fire outside a house on Peel Road, Thorntonhall.
"No one was injured and officers are currently working with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service to establish the cause of the fire."

Meanwhile, a Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 1.02am on Wednesday, May 19 to reports of a car on fire outside a dwelling on Peel Road, Thorntonhall, Glasgow.
"Operations Control mobilised eight appliances to the scene to extinguish the fire, which was affecting a number of cars as well as the detached two-storey property."
Firefighters are understood to have remained at the scene until 7am after extinguishing the blaze, with police road closures still in place.

Celtic released a statement on Wednesday morning which reads: "We can confirm that significant damage has been caused to Peter Lawwell’s house and vehicles there, following an explosion and fire early this morning, forcing the family to leave the property.
"Clearly, Peter’s family are extremely shaken and shocked by these terrible events, but thankfully all are safe.
"We understand that Police Scotland are currently undertaking a criminal investigation.
"Peter and his family will of course receive the full support and care of everyone at the Club."
Lawwell, 61, has been associated with Celtic since 1990, when he was appointed Financial Controller.
The report in the Daily Record claims his daughter and her four-month-old baby girl were in a specially-designed flat above the garage when the fire broke out.
They were safely removed from the scene, while pictures show the devastating effects of the blaze which ripped through vehicles, windows and the property itself.
